CAS(E) this Sketch #219 - New puppy

A friend of mine is welcoming a puppy, so I made this card for her.

I love the denim BG stamp, but indigo color was a little strong as a background for this card, so I stamped it in pale purple.

This week's CAS(E) this sketch #219 is the inspiration for my design.

I die-cut dark pink cardstock 4 times, and layered the pieces under the pale pink heart so that it looks more distinct against the pale purple. I also coated the paw and the bone with Glossy Accents.

Stamp: Denim BG (My Favorite Things)
Paper: Whisper White, Pink Pirouette, Melon Mambo, Chocolate Chip (Stampin' Up!), Grapesicle (My Favorite Things)
Ink: Soft Lilac (Altenew)
Accessories: Die-namics Pet Accents (My Favorite Things), Stitched Rectangles (Simon Says Stamp), Glossy Accents (Ranger), Foam Tape (3M)

Thanks for visiting me today!

CAS(E) this Sketch #218 - Thank you

One of my goals for this year is to send out the cards I make instead of stacking them on my desk. So the sentiments I use tend to be "thank you" or "happy birthday". Thank-you cards are never too many to make. 😊

The sketch is from CAS(E) this Sketch! #218.

I dry-embossed woodgrain on the white panels, and heat-embossed on the gray panel. I thought the growth ring in the center looked like a bull's-eye for the sentiment arrow.

The woodgrain looked a little distracting against the sentiment, so I put a piece of vellum behind the sentiment.

Stamp: Whimsical Woodgrain BG (My Favorite Things)
Paper: Whisper White, Smokey Slate, Real Red, Vellum (Stampin' Up!)
Ink: VersaMark (Tsukineko)
Accessories: Embossing Powder (White - Hero Arts), Embossing Folder (Woodgrain - Stampin' Up!), Die-namics (Arrow Greetings - My Favorite Things), White Craft Foam

Thanks for checking out my card today!

Alternew April 2017 Inspiration Challenge

I'll be on vacation next month, so I've started making cards I want to send out  in May.
First, a Mother's Day card:

My color inspiration is from Alternew April Inspiration Challenge.  Mom loves blue/green tones.

I heat-embossed the magnolia images in platinum, and fussy-cut them.
I also heat-embossed the sentiment.

Stamp: Magnolias For Her (Altenew), Thoughtful Banners (Stampin' Up!)
Paper: Distress Watercolor Cardstock (Ranger), Whisper White, Bermuda Bay  (Stampin' Up!)
Ink: Sapphire, Persian Blue, Warm Sunshine (Altenew), VersaMark (Tsukineko)
Accessories: Embossing Powder (Liquid Platinum - Ranger, White - Hero Arts), Foam Tape (3M), Watercolor brush (Grumbacher 3/4", 10)

The Paper Players #339 - thank you

It's been a while since I last made a square card.

I used the colors from the Paper Player's color challenge (#339).

I love these beautiful muted colors.
I left a lot of white space and used circle images to make the card look playful.

The most difficult part of this project was taking the pictures. I took many pictures changing the settings, but somehow Perfect Plum looked much darker in all of them (like Elegant Plant)!

Stamp: Many Thanks (Mama Elephant), Lots of Dots (Simon Says Stamp)
Paper: Whisper White, Perfect Plum
(Stampin' Up!)
Ink: Perfect Plum, Mint Macaron, Sahara Sand (Stampin' Up!)
Accessories: Basic Stitch Lines (My Favorite Things), Wink of Stella (Clear - Kuretake)

Thanks for dropping by!

CAS(E) this Sketch #215 - smile

Yay, it's the weekend! Time for me to enjoy paper-crafting!

I've been making a lot of nature-themed cards these days, so I made this one for a change.

I was not aware of it while I was making the card, but I realized that my color scheme was the same as this clever card by Hannelie. I was so impressed with her card that I looked at it for a long time earlier this week. So maybe the image stayed somewhere in my mind. Thanks for the inspiration, Hannelie!

I CASEd Michele's lovely sketch: CAS(E) this Sketch! #215.

I coated the sentiment with Glossy Accents.

Ink: Distress Ink (Mustard Seed - Ranger)
Accessories:Dots & Stripes Decorative Maskes (Stampin' Up!), Emojis Die (Spellbinders), Smile Circle Die (Simon Says Stamp), Glossy Accents (Ranger)
